εκτοξεύονται στα ύψη
τα ενοίκια εν Αθήναις
ανεξέλεγκτα σαρώνουν
νέους φτωχούς
σε υπόγεια βυθίζουν

μη εξαιρετέα, ναι
η άκληρη διασπορά
το τρυφερό
«μητροπολιτικό μας κέντρο»
φροντίζει ακόμα
εν όψει καλοκαιρινής επιστροφής
από τις απαρχές της εξόδου της
αλύπητα να τιμωρεί.

blanket weak assumptions
limitations
The weight of interests
lowers expectations
––oh, lamentation
presses the bar low
down to the bloodied dirt
A ritual massacre
hailed as a triumph
in fb’s colosseum…

Pale Imitation

And then I grew a
beard
the way I saw in a
Men’s magazine,
mirror-like
a pioneer’s image
razor sharp.

And when I blazed my
beard
the way my accent led me,
did I grow
–or do I err–
a shade or two
further foreigner?
